Description

Rosemary is an evergreen shrub with aromatic linear leaves.

Botanical Name

 Rosmarinus officinalis

 Rosemary is from the Mint (Labiatae) family.

Cardiovascular System

 Rosemary may help to prevent Atherosclerosis (due the ability of its Rosmarinic Acid content to inhibit the oxidation of LDL Cholesterol).  ^[1]

 Rosemary may improve Blood Circulation. 

 Rosemary may decrease the permeability and fragility of the Capillaries (due to Diosmin). 

 Rosemary (leaf extracts) may lower Blood Pressure in High Blood Pressure patients. 

 Rosemary may help to prevent and treat Ischemic Heart Disease (due to the Rosmarinic Acid content of Rosemary).  ^[2]

 Rosemary may help to prevent Thrombosis.  ^[3]

Digestive System

 Rosemary may stimulate the flow of Bile. 

 Rosemary (infusion used as a mouthwash) may alleviate Halitosis. 

 Rosemary may help to prevent and treat Ulcers - Peptic (due to its Rosmarinic Acid content).  ^[4]

Excretory System

 Rosemary may increase the production and flow of Urine (i.e. it functions as a diuretic). 

Eyes/Vision

 Rosemary (infusion applied topically to the Hair) may enhance and highlight the Hair Color of brunettes and redheads.
