Description

Interleukin 1 is a type of Interleukin.

Biological Function of Interleukin 1

Immune System

Interleukin 1 enhances the growth and differentiation of B-Lymphocytes.

Interleukin 1 enhances the ability of the Immune System to destroy Cancer cells.

Interleukin 1 is produced by Macrophages and Monocytes, and Neutrophils and activates Helper T-Cells.

Interleukin 1 stimulates Helper T-Cells to produce Interleukin 2.

Interleukin 1 may Enhance the Function of these Substances

Hormones

Interleukin 1 (IL-1b form) stimulates the production of Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone (CRH) in the Hypothalamus.  [1]

Immune System Chemicals

Interleukin 1 stimulates the activity of Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF).  [2]

These Substances may Enhance the Function/Production of Interleukin 1

Carbohydrates

Beta 1,6 Glucan may stimulate Interleukin 1.

Grifolan (a form of Beta 1,3 Glucan present in Maitake Mushrooms) may stimulate the production and activity of Interleukin 1 by Macrophages.  [3]

Echinacin (an Arabinogalactan found in Echinacea purpurea) may stimulate Macrophages to release Interleukin 1.  [4]

Lentinan may stimulate the production of Interleukin 1:

Lentinan stimulates the endogenous production of Interleukin 1 in Cancer patients.

Enzymes

Bromelain (especially when administered in conjunction with Papain and Pancreatic Amylase) may stimulate the production of Interleukin 1 (Interleukin 1 beta form).  [5]

Pancreatic Amylase (especially when administered in conjunction with Papain and Bromelain) may stimulate the production of Interleukin 1 (Interleukin 1 beta form).  [6]

Papain (especially when administered in conjunction with Bromelain and Pancreatic Amylase) may stimulate the production of Interleukin 1 (Interleukin 1 beta form).  [7]

Peptides

Carnosine may increase the production of Interleukin 1 by Neutrophils.  [8]

Prescribed Medications:  Vaccines

Bestatin (a Vaccine derived from Streptomyces olivoreticuli) may stimulate the production and release of Interleukin 1.  [9]

Biostim may stimulate the production and secretion of Interleukin 1.  [10]

These Foods/Herbs may Enhance the Function/Production of Interleukin 1

Algae

Chlorella may facilitate the production of Interleukin 1 (Interleukin 1 alpha form).  [11]

Spirulina may increase the production of Interleukin 1.  [12]

Herbs

Black Cumin may increase the body’s production of Interleukin 1 (Interleukin 1 beta form).  [13]
