Ginseng - Siberian
Description
Siberian Ginseng, Eleuthero, is an herb that is native to Siberia, Korea and the Shansi and Hopei Provinces of China. Siberian Ginseng is not a "true" Ginseng as it is not a species of Panax - there is a strong argument for renaming this Herb to Eleuthero so as to disassociate it from Ginseng - although its beneficial actions to date appear to be similar to those of "true" Ginseng.
Botanical Name
Eleutherococcus senticosus (also known as Acanthopanax senticosus)
Siberian Ginseng is from the Aralia (Araliaceae) family.
