Description

Chemotherapy is an Orthodox Medical Procedure utilized in the treatment of Cancer that involves the use of Antimetabolites or Cytotoxic Drugs to kill Cancer cells.

Toxic Effects of Chemotherapy

Cardiovascular System

 Many of the Anti-Cancer Prescribed Medications utilized in Chemotherapy may cause Macrocytic Anemia. 

Digestive System

 Chemotherapy may cause the barrier of the Intestine to become permeable and leaky and allows Detrimental Bacteria to enter the bloodstream.

 Chemotherapy destroys the Villi of the Small Intestine (small projections from the Intestinal Wall of the Small Intestine that are the primary site of digestion of nutrients).

 The Prescribed Medications utilized during the administration of Chemotherapy often cause Vomiting.

Immune System

 Chemotherapy may damage the Bone Marrow.

 Although Chemotherapy is used to treat Cancer, it may increase the subsequent risk of developing other forms of Cancer later in life (due to the unselective killing of the body’s Cells):

 Chemotherapy patients are 14 times more likely to develop Leukemia than patients who have not undergone Chemotherapy and Chemotherapy patients are 6 times more likely to develop Cancer of the Bones, Joints and soft tissue.

 Chemotherapy may suppress the Immune System.

 Chemotherapy may increase the risk of Myelodysplasia. 

Metabolism

 Chemotherapy may cause Liver damage.

Chemotherapy may Interfere with these Substances

Amino Acids

 Chemotherapy may cause severe depletion of Taurine (therefore supplemental Taurine is considered beneficial for any person undergoing Chemotherapy).  [1]

Vitamins

 Chemotherapy may cause the depletion of Vitamin A.  [2]

 Chemotherapy may interfere with the intestinal absorption of dietary Vitamin K and may interfere with Vitamin K synthesis in the Liver.

Amino Acids

 When Glutamine is supplemented in conjunction with Chemotherapy, tumors may decrease in size by up to 45%, compared to 25% when Glutamine is not supplemented (this indicates that Glutamine may increase the susceptibility of Cancer cells to the cytotoxic effects of Chemotherapy):  [3]

 Glutamine may also increase the survival rate of Chemotherapy patients. 

Carbohydrates

 Kureha may improve the effectiveness of many of the Anti-Cancer Prescribed Medications utilized in Chemotherapy.  [4]
