Also known as:  Sensory Motor Coordination

Description

Coordination is the harmonious working together, especially of several Muscles or Muscle groups in the execution of complicated movements.

It is a function of the Nervous System associated with the transmission of Nerve Impulses to Muscles in response to stimuli from the Senses.  The Cerebellum (a primitive part of the Brain) governs muscular Coordination.

These Substances may Improve Coordination

Hormones

Human Growth Hormone (hGH) may improve (hand-to-eye) Coordination (especially in hGH deficient people).  [1]

Pregnenolone may improve (hand-to-eye) Coordination.  [2]

Lipids

Poor Coordination may occur as a result of Alpha-Linolenic Acid(LNA) deficiency.  [3]

Octacosanol (400 mg per day) may improve hand-to-eye Coordination.  [4]

Minerals

Poor Coordination may occur as a result of Boron deficiency.  [5]

Poor Coordination may occur as a result of Magnesium deficiency.  [6]

 Manganese may improve Coordination.

Poor Coordination may occur as a result of Selenium deficiency.  [7]

Neurotransmitters

 Acetylcholine may improve Coordination.

Nitric Oxide may improve muscular Coordination.

 Vasopressin may improve Coordination.  [8]

Quinones

Coenzyme Q10 may improve Coordination in Cerebellar Ataxia patients.  [9]
