Overview

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is from the nightshade (Solanaceae) family, which includes the tomato. Ashwagandha has been used in Ayurvedic Medicine for thousands of years and is native to the dry regions of India, northern Africa, and the Middle East, and is now grown in mild climates in the United States. Ashwagandha contains many useful medicinal compounds and has been studied in over 216 studies for its healing benefits. Traditionally prescribed to help people strengthen their immune system after an illness.
