Minocycline
Description
Minocycline is a Pharmaceutical Antibiotic from the Tetracyclines class. It is the most Lipid-soluble of the Tetracyclines.
Standard Medical Usage of Minocycline
Immune System
Minocycline kills some types of Bacteria - Detrimental including:
Mycoplasma species including:
Staphylococcus aureus (including some of the strains of Staphylococcus aureus that are resistant to other Tetracyclines)
Minocycline is sometimes employed in the treatment of some types of Protozoa - Detrimental infections including those due to:
Plasmodium falciparum (the cause of one type of Malaria)
Musculoskeletal System
Minocycline (200 mg per day administered as two x 100 mg doses) may (in some cases) cause the remission of Rheumatoid Arthritis (due to its ability to kill the Detrimental Mycoplasma Bacteria that are speculated to cause Rheumatoid Arthritis). [1]
