Entamoeba histolytica is a type of Detrimental Protozoa that can reside in the Cecum and Colon of man. It is a type of Ameba and is also regarded as a type of Intestinal Parasite. It inhabits soils and waters.

Entamoeba is the second most prevalent type of Detrimental Protozoa that affects humans - it affects approximately 3% to 10% of the world’s population.
