 Melatonin (10 - 20 mg per day) may inhibit the growth of some forms of Cancer:  [1]

 Melatonin has been used as a therapy in many advanced tumors of various types that would not respond to Chemotherapy and up to 33% of these subjects experience a significant response.

 Melatonin is involved in the prevention of chemically-induced and genetically related Cancers.

 The Circadian Rhythm involving Melatonin synthesis and release may be suppressed in Cancer patients.

 Melatonin promotes the release of other (as yet unnamed) Pineal Gland chemicals that work ally with Melatonin in the prevention of Cancer.

 Melatonin may prolong the survival time of advanced Cancer - Brain (including Astrocytoma) patients who are being treated with Radiation Therapy and Melatonin (up to 200 mg per day) may cause significant regression of Brain Tumors caused by the metastasis of Melanomas:  [2]

 Melatonin may inhibit the growth of Gliomas:  [3]

 Melatonin (20 mg per night) may improve survival and may counteract the toxic effects of Radiation Therapy in Glioblastoma Multiforme patients.  [4]

 Melatonin may stimulate the apoptosis (cell death) of Neuroblastoma cells.  [5]

 Melatonin may reduce the size of Cancer - Breast tumors by 50% - 70% and may prevent the onset of Breast Cancer (it may participate directly in inhibiting the division of Estrogen-dependent Breast Cancer Cells).  [6]

Melatonin strongly augments the effectiveness of Tamoxifen against Breast Cancer when Melatonin is used as a pre treatment prior to commencement of Tamoxifen therapy.  [7]

 Supplemental Melatonin (20 mg per day) may improve the condition of Cancer - Colon patients (in approximately 60% of cases) and may reduce the risk of Colon Cancer by approximately 35%.  [8]

 Low plasma Melatonin levels may be implicated in Cancer - Endometrium (women with Endometrial Cancer often have significantly lower plasma Melatonin levels compared to healthy women).  [9]

 Melatonin may be an effective adjunct to the treatment of Cancer - Kidney (it may help to prevent the of Kidney Cancer.  [10]

 Melatonin (10 - 50 mg per day) may be beneficial for the prevention and treatment of Cancer - Liver.  [11]
