Allergies - Substances that Alleviate
These Substances may Alleviate Allergies
Amino Acids
Histidine may alleviate some types of Allergies.
Methionine may alleviate some types of Allergies (by inhibiting the release of excessive Histamine).
Digestive System Chemicals
Supplemental Hydrochloric Acid (usually administered in the form of Betaine Hydrochloride) may prevent and treat Allergies (insufficient production of Hydrochloric Acid in the Stomach (Hypochlorhydria) is believed to be an underlying cause of some Allergies). [1]
Enzymes
Bromelain may help to “dissolve” the foreign Proteins (Antigens) that are responsible for many Allergies. [2]
Supplementary Digestive Enzymes may be effective for the treatment of Allergies by improving digestion and minimizing the absorption of allergy-triggering, incompletely digested Proteins (Antigens) in foods.
Supplementary Pancreatic Enzymes may help to prevent Food Allergies (by facilitating the digestion of the large molecules that are Antigens in the Foods that cause Food Allergies). [3]
Hormones
Cortisol helps to control Allergies (by stabilizing the Cell Membrane of Lysosomes, Immune System Cells that, when ruptured initiate the Inflammation involved in Allergies). [4]
DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) may help to prevent Allergies. [5]
Progesterone (cream applied topically) may alleviate Allergies (due to its role as a precursor for the production of Glucocorticosteroid Hormones such as Cortisol and Cortisone). [6]
Thymosin may improve the function of the Immune System in people with Allergies. [7]
Immune System Chemicals
Interferon Gamma may help to prevent Allergies. [8]
Lipids
Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) may limit reactions to (Food) Allergies (due to CLA’s effects on the Immune System). [9]
Glycyrrhizin may reduce Allergies. [10]
Omega-3 Fatty Acids may help to prevent Allergies. [11]
Microorganisms
Bifidobacteria breve may help to prevent/treat Allergies. [12]
Lactobacillus acidophilus may alleviate some types of Allergies, (particularly Food Allergies) (according to anecdotal reports). [13]
