Interferon Gamma

Also known as:  Antigen Interferon;  Gamma Interferon;  Gamma-IFN;  IFN-g;  IFN-gamma;  Immune Interferon

Interferon Gamma is a type of Interferon produced by T-Lymphocytes (specifically TH1 Helper T-Cells) in response to stimulation by Antigens.

Immune System

 Interferon Gamma may help to prevent Allergies (insufficient production of Interferon  Gamma is associated with increased incidence of Allergies).  ^[1]

 InterferonGamma interferes with the growth of several types of tumors and Cancer patients are usually found to produce insufficient quantities of endogenous Interferon Gamma.  ^[2]

 Interferon Gamma stimulates the activity of Macrophages.  ^[3]

 Interferon Gamma kills some types of Viruses:

 Interferon Gamma kills Influenza Viruses.

Respiratory System

 Interferon Gamma may helpt to prevent Asthma (insufficient production of Interferon Gamma is associated with increased incidence and severity of Asthma).  ^[4]

Immune System Chemicals

 Interferon Gamma may enhance the ability of Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) to destroy Cancer cells (by approximately 300%).  ^[5]

Heat Therapy

 Interferon Gamma may further enhances the ability of Hyperthermia to successfully treat some forms of Cancer.  ^[6]

 Glutamine may facilitate the production of Interferon Gamma.  ^[7]
