These Substances may Alleviate/Prevent Anemia

Amino Acids

Carnitine may alleviate some cases of Anemia (especially forms of Anemia that occur in persons undergoing dialysis treatment).  [1]

Glutamine may help to prevent Anemia.

Histidine may alleviate some types of Anemia (due to its role as a constituent (comprising 10%) of Hemoglobin).  [2]

Anemia may occur as a result Lysine deficiency.

Hormones

Erythropoietin stimulates the production of Red Blood Cells, thereby alleviating Anemia:

Exogenous synthetic Erythropoietin is utilized in the treatment of Anemia caused by dialysis and may also alleviate Anemia that is caused by other factors.

Low levels of Testosterone may increase the risk of Anemia.  [3]

Minerals

Boron may be useful for the treatment of some types of Anemia.  [4]

Iron Deficiency Anemia can occur as a result of Copper deficiency (this occurs as a result of Copper’s role in the absorption of Iron and Copper’s role in the production of Hemoglobin).  [5]

Anemia can occur as a result of Iron deficiency.  (Anemia caused by Iron deficiency is known as Iron Deficiency Anemia or Hypoferric Anemia).  [6]

Ferritin may be useful for the treatment of (Iron Deficiency) Anemia.
