Overview

Gamma-Tocopherol is one of the several types of Tocopherol in Vitamin E having some additional benefits not exerted by the other types of Tocopherols.

Health Benefits of Gamma-Tocopherol

Cardiovascular System

 Gamma-Tocopherol may inhibit the generation of Superoxide Free Radicals in Arteries.  [1]

 Gamma-Tocopherol may inhibit abnormal Blood Clotting (by inhibiting platelet aggregation).  [2]

Cell Membranes

 Gamma-Tocopherol is the second most prevalent form of Vitamin E in Cell Membranes. 

 The most prevalent form is Alpha-Tocopherol.

Immune System

 Gamma-Tocopherol may help to prevent Cancer - Breast.  [3]

 Gamma-Tocopherol may help to prevent Cancer - Colon by reducing the number of Oncogenes in the Colon and may reduce the production of Peroxides in the Colon.  [4]

 Gamma-Tocopherol may inhibit the growth of Gliomas.  [5]

 Gamma-Tocopherol may reduce Inflammation.  [6]

 Gamma-Tocopherol may help to prevent Cancer - Lung.  [7]

 Gamma-Tocopherol may help to prevent Cancer - Prostate by inhibiting the further growth of existing Prostate Cancer. Gamma-Tocopherol appears to be more effective against Prostate Cancer than Alpha-Tocopherol.  [8]  

Metabolism

 Gamma-Tocopherol is an Antioxidants and is possibly equal to or better than the Alpha-Tocopherol form of Vitamin E.  [9]
