Description

Oregano Oil is the Aromatic Oil consisting of Volatile Oils derived from the leaves and flowering heads of Oregano (Origanum vulgare and Origanum heracleoticum species).  It is usually produced by the steam distillation process.

The Origanum vulgare species is believed to be the superior species of Oregano for use in the preparation of Oregano Oil as this species contained much higher quantities of the two most active constituents - Carvacrol and Thymol.
