Otitis Media

Description
Otitis Media is an Inflammation, usually due to infection by detrimental Bacteria or Viruses of the Middle Ear (i.e. of the chamber lying behind the eardrum and containing three bony ossicles that conduct sound to the inner ear).
Prevalence
In the United Kingdom, approximately 30% of children aged 3 and under visit their general practitioner with (acute) Otitis Media each year.
Approximately 10% of children will have experienced an episode of (acute) Otitis Media by three months of age.
Acute Otitis Media is the most common reason for outpatient antimicrobial treatment in the USA.

Carbohydrates
