Overview

Shilajit is a black to brown (tarry) exudate obtained from rocks that are commonly found in the mountains of the Himalayas (and also some other mountain regions of Europe and Asia).  It is commonly used in .  Although it is obtained from rock (mineral) sources, Shilajit also contains plant-sourced matter (from fossilized plants).  Its therapeutic use is based on it containing long-term mummification products of Euphorbia and Trifolium (Clover) Herbs.
