The incidence of Intermittent Claudication increases significantly after age 70.
These Substances may Prevent or Alleviate Intermittent Claudication
Amino Acids
Arginine (6,000 mg per day) may increase walking distance in Intermittent Claudication patients. [1]
Carnitine (2,000 -4,000 mg per day) may improve walking distance without Pain in Intermittent Claudication patients: [2]
Acetyl-L-Carnitine (2,000 -4,000 mg per day) may improve walking distance without Pain in Intermittent Claudication patients. [3]
Propionyl-L-Carnitine (2,000 - 4,000 mg per day) improves walking distance without Pain in Intermittent Claudication patients. [4]
The synthetic Amino Acid - Ethylene-Diamine-Tetra-Acetate (EDTA) – has been used in Chelation Therapy to bond to and chelate (remove) many Toxic Heavy Metals from the body of Intermittent Claudication patients. [5]
Carbohydrates
Ribose may increase Energy production in the Cardiac Muscle of Intermittent Claudication patients. [6]
Hormones
Exogenous Testosterone may alleviate Intermittent Claudication (in men): [7]
Testosterone Propionate (administered via injection) alleviates Intermittent Claudication (in men). [8]
Lipids
Policosanol (20 mg per day) may alleviate the symptoms of Intermittent Claudication. [9]
