Description

Galanthamine is a acetylcholinesterase, AChE, inhibitor boosting acetycholine, ACh, levels. Galantamine also protects the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, effectively increasing the activity of acetycholine, ACh. Galanthamine is naturally derived from the bulb of certain species of daffodil, Galanthus nivalis, Snowdrop, Narcissus pseudonarcissus, the common Daffodil or from Lycoris radiata, Red Spider Lily. Immune System

 Galanthamine may alleviate the residual Paralysis associated with recovery from Poliomyelitis. 

 

Metabolism

 Galanthamine (16 mg per day) may reduce Pain and Fatigue in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) patients (due to its beneficial effects on Acetylcholine function).  [1]
