Ginseng - American

Overview

American Ginseng is a species of true Ginseng valued for its medicinal properties, and is found throughout the forests of eastern North America. The root and root hairs are the parts of the plant used to make powder and liquid products. The roots can reach maturity at about 7 to 10 years of age, while some are harvested after 3 or 4 years. Ginseng plants have been known to live for over 80 years. American Ginseng contains these substances  ^[1]

American Ginseng is standardized to contain 5%-10% Ginsenosides. 

Short-term therapeutic use of American Ginseng, 1 to 3 months, is 1,000 - 3,000 mg per day for non-standardized Ginseng and 600 - 2,000 mg for standardized Ginseng. Long-term use is 500 - 1,500 mg per day for a non-standardized form and 400 - 800 mg for standardized Ginseng.
