These Substances may Alleviate Dermatitis
Carbohydrates
Acemannan (gel applied topically) may alleviate Dermatitis where Dermatitis is caused by Radiation Therapy.
Complementary Therapies
Oxygen Therapy is utilized in the treatment of Dermatitis by giving controlled dosages of Hydrogen Peroxide, Ozone and ozone sauna therapy.
Digestive Juices
Dermatitis patients are often deficient in Hydrochloric Acid production.
Enzymes
Dermatitis patients often exhibit low serum Glutathione Peroxidase levels.
Hormones
Atopic Dermatitis patients often exhibit abnormally low endogenous levels of DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) - supporting the possibility that DHEA supplements may be beneficial for Dermatitis patients. DHEA should be taken under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional. [1]
Lipids
Alkylglycerols 100 mg per day may alleviate many cases of Dermatitis by helping to reduce the excessive proliferation of skin cells that occurs in dermatitis patients and also by enhancing the function of the immune system in a way that benefits dermatitis patients. [2]
Ceramide 3 applied topically may help to prevent Detergent-induced Dermatitis.
Microorganisms
Lactobacillus acidophilus - DDS-1 strain may alleviate Dermatitis (by improving the function of the Digestive System).
Lactobacillus rhamnosus may alleviate (atopic) Dermatitis. [3]
Minerals
Selenium may alleviate Dermatitis by increasing the GlutathionePeroxidase levels that are usually deficient in Dermatitis patients.
Many Dermatitis patients are found to require additional Zinc. [4]
Prescribed Medications
Betamethasone (applied topically) may reduce Inflammation in (contact) Dermatitis patients.
