Biological Function of FSH

Sexual System

FSH stimulates the growth of Graafian Follicles and Oocytes in the Ovaries of women.  [1]

FSH stimulates the production of Sperm by the Sertoli Cells of the Testes of the Testicles (of males).  [2]

Experimental Usage of FSH

Musculoskeletal System

FSH is sometimes used (usually illicitly) by bodybuilders to induce Muscle Growth (due to its ability to stimulate endogenous Testosterone production).

FSH Enhances the Function of these Substances

Hormones

FSH stimulates the production of Estrogens in the Ovaries (in women).

FSH stimulates the production of Testosterone in the Testes (in men).

These Substances may Enhance the Production/Function of FSH

Hormones
