Infertility - Female

Description

Female Infertility is the inability of females to induce conception (after one year of unprotected sexual intercourse).

 Infertility afflicts approximately 12% of women.

Hormones

 DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) (80 mg per day) may alleviate some cases of Female Infertility.  ^[1]

 Gonadotrophic Hormones are synthesized and released by the Pituitary Gland to act on the Ovaries to promote the production of Sexual Steroid Hormones and Ova.

 Melatonin may improve the fertilization rate of females and may therefore help to prevent/treat Female Infertility.  ^[2]

 Progesterone (cream applied topically) may alleviate Female Infertility.  ^[3]

Minerals

 The Potassium Chloride form of Potassium is claimed to alleviate Female Infertility. 

 Some cases of Female Infertility may occur as a result of Selenium deficiency.  ^[4]

 Some cases of Female Infertility may occur as a result of Zinc deficiency.  ^[5]

Smart Drugs

 Bromocriptine may alleviate Female Infertility (where Infertility is caused by excessive production/secretion of Prolactin).  ^[6]

Vitamins

 Female Infertility may occur as a result of Inositol deficiency. 

 PABA (Para Aminobenzoic Acid) (400 mg per day for at least three months) may be useful for the treatment of Female Infertility.  ^[7]

 Female Infertility patients may experience a higher conception rate after Vitamin B6 supplementation:  ^[8]

 In one study, 85% of women using 100 - 800 mg of supplemental Vitamin B6 per day achieved an increase in their fertility rate.

 Female Infertility may occur as a result of Vitamin B12 deficiency.  ^[9]

 Vitamin C may alleviate female Infertility.  ^[10]

 Female Infertility may occur as a result of Vitamin D deficiency.  ^[11]
