Opioids

Description
Opioids are a group of endogenous Neuropeptides that are chemically similar to Opiates derived from the Opium Poppy. They are concentrated primarily in the Midbrain and Raphe Nucleus (of the Medulla) of the Brain Stem.

Opioids bind to Opioid Receptors located on some Neurons in the Brain, thereby alleviating Pain.
