Description

The Olfactory Bulb is the grayish expanded rostral extremity of the Olfactory Tract.  It is situated on the Cribriform Plate of the Olfactory Nerve and is considered to be a component of the Limbic System.

 

Function of the Olfactory Bulb

Nervous System

 The Olfactory Bulb provides input relating to the Sense of Smell to the Frontal Lobe and Temporal Lobe of the Cerebral Cortex and to the Hypothalamus.
