Diencephalon
Description
The Diencephalon is a region of the Brain. It is not a discrete structure but a collective term for several structures of the Brain that have connections with each other. The Diencephalon is covered (almost totally enclosed) by the Cerebral Hemispheres of the Cerebrum and is located above and is connected to the Brain Stem - the Subthalamus of the Diencephalon is located above the Midbrain of the Brain Stem.
