Description

Visceral Fat is a form of Adipose Tissue that accumulates around the body’s major internal organs (especially round the midsection (Stomach region) of the body).  Visceral Fat that accumulates around the Stomach region is known as Abdominal Fat;  Intraabdominal Fat;  Pot Belly or Visceral Abdominal Fat.

 

Prevalence

 Men are more prone to accumulate Visceral Fat than women.

 

These Substances may Decrease the Accumulation of Visceral Fat

Alkaloids

 Ephedrine (especially when combined with Caffeine) may reduce abdominal Visceral Fat (by influencing Beta-Adrenergic Receptors in the abdominal region).  [1]

 

Hormones

 DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) may reduce Visceral Fat deposits.  [2]

 Human Growth Hormone (hGH) replacement therapy may reduce Visceral Fat in persons afflicted with Obesity (in persons with a clear-cut hGH deficiency).  [3]
