Description
Retinal is an important form of Vitamin A that is the Aldehyde form of Retinol.
Biological Function of Retinal
Eyes/Vision
Retinal is the form of Vitamin A that is most important for the Sight functions associated with Vitamin A:
Retinal is converted to 11-cis Retinal (by the Retinal Isomerase enzyme).
This 11-cis-Retinal is the immediate precursor for the production of Rhodopsin and Iodopsins.
