Organic Acids

 Hippuric Acid is manufactured endogenously via the metabolism of Benzoic Acid and Quinic Acid (for example the Benzoic Acid and Quinic Acid contained in Cranberries metabolizes to Hippuric Acid when Cranberries are ingested).

 

These Foods may Enhance the Function of Hippuric Acid

Fruit

 Bilberry may increase urinary Hippuric Acid levels.  [2]

 Cherry may increase urinary Hippuric Acid levels.  [3]

 Although the Cranberry does not contain Hippuric Acid, the Benzoic Acid and Quinic Acid content of the Cranberry metabolizes within the body to form Hippuric Acid.
