The term Phytosterols refers to any Sterol derived from Plants.  More than 40 types of Phytosterols have been identified to date.

 Phytosterols may help to prevent Cancer - Colon.  [1]

 Phytosterols may help to prevent Cancer - Prostate (by inhibiting the conversion of Testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by the 5-Alpha Reductase enzyme and by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of Testosterone to Estrogens).  [2]

 

Metabolism
