Description

Noise-Induced Hearing Loss is a form of Sensorineural Hearing Loss (Nerve Deafness) that occurs as a result of chronic (long-term) exposure to loud noises (e.g. industrial machinery or loud music).  It can also result from brief exposure to very loud noises (e.g. gunshots, explosions or aircraft engines).  This form of Hearing Loss occurs after subtle changes in cells and structures of the Organ of Corti and the Cochlea.
