Description

The Occipital Lobe is a component of the Cerebral Cortex of the Cerebral Hemispheres of the Cerebrum of the Brain.

Biological Function of the Occipital Lobe

Nervous System

Some areas of the Occipital Lobe have strong connections to the Amygdala - these connections to the Amygdala account for the effect of visual stimuli (Sight) on Emotions.

The Occipital Lobe receives Nerve Impulses relating to the Sense of Sight from the Optic Nerve (Cranial Nerve II).

These Substances Enhance the Function of the Occipital Lobe
