Description
Grave’s Disease is an ailment caused by overproduction of Thyroid Hormones. It is considered to be an Autoimmune Disease as it results from the binding of Antibodies to the Thyroid Gland. Grave's Disease is similar to Hyperthyroidism (thyrotoxicosis) except that the symptoms associated with Hyperthyroidism are accompanied by swelling of the neck and protrusion of the Eyes (Exophthalmia).

Grave’s Disease occurs seven to ten times more frequently in women than in men.
