Increased Interleukin 12 levels may be desirable for Cancer patients as Interleukin 12 inhibits the formation of new Blood Vessels that "feed" tumors, i.e. it functions as an inhibitor. [1]
Interleukin 12 activates TH1 Helper T-Cells. [2]
Interleukin 12 prevents the activation of TH2 Helper T-Cells. [3]
Interleukin 12 facilitates the production of Interferon Gamma by NK Lymphocytes.
