Description

Sjogren Syndrome is a type of chronic Autoimmune Disease in which the body's Immune System mistakenly attacks its own moisture-producing Glands (exocrine Glands). .  All instances of Sjogren Syndrome are systemic (ie. affecting the entire body).

 

Prevalence

 The female-to-male ratio for Sjogren Syndrome is 9:1.

 The incidence of Sjogren Syndrome peaks in persons aged 30 – 50.
