Description
Gentamicin is a type of Aminoglycoside Pharmaceutical Antibiotic. It is produced from Micromonospora purpurea.
Therapeutic Usage of Gentamicin
Digestive System
Gentamicin may be useful for the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (it may reduce the bacterial overgrowth associated with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth Syndrome which has been found to be an underlying cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome).
Gentamicin may reduce the bacterial overgrowth associated with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth Syndrome.
Immune System
Gentamicin inhibits many strains of Staphylococcus.
Toxic Effects of Gentamicin
Ears & Hearing
Gentamicin may cause Deafness in some persons.

Gentamicin may damage the Kidneys.
