Overview

Chlorine is a member of the halogen group in the periodic table and is a poisonous gas. The only therapeutic / essential form of chlorine is in its organic salt form, sodium chloride - common salt.

Metabolism

 Cystic Fibrosis patients are generally found to be deficient in Chlorine (Chloride)

 It is not yet known whether this deficiency occurs as a complication of Cystic Fibrosis or as an underlying cause of Cystic Fibrosis.  [1]

 Heat Exhaustion may occur as a result of Chlorine deficiency. 

 Chlorine may enhance the function of the Liver - underactive Liver can occur as a result of Chlorine deficiency. 

 

Musculoskeletal System

 Muscle Cramps may occur as a symptom of Chlorine deficiency. 

 Muscular Dystrophy may occur as a result of Chlorine deficiency. 

 Loss of Teeth may occur as a result of Chlorine deficiency. 

 

Nervous System

 Nausea may occur as a result of Chlorine deficiency. 

 

Skin/Hair/Nails

 Hair Loss may occur as a result of Chlorine deficiency.
