Essiac
Overview
Essiac (developed in Canada) is a herbal formula comprising four herbs- primarily Sheep Sorrel - its effectiveness is widely acclaimed through anecdotal reports. Supporters of Essiac claim that it has not been given its due credit. On the other hand there are very few (if any) supporting clinical studies supporting its purported benefits. This does not mean that Essiac doesn’t work as most herbal therapies that have undergone clinical trials and have proven their effectiveness began life as unsubstantiated therapies.
Health Benefits of Essiac
The majority of Essiac's health benefits appear to be attributable to its Sheep Sorrel content.
Digestive System
Essiac has been reported to cure Ulcers - Gastric within three to four weeks of initial Essiac supplementation (according to anecdotal reports).
Immune System
Essiac has been claimed to be a potential for the treatment of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) (according to anecdotal reports):
