Dreams
Description
Dreaming is generally defined as imaginal, sensory, motor, and thought processes that occur primarily during Rapid Eye Movement (REM) Sleep.
Prevalence
During each overnight period of Sleep, most adults dream on average each 90 minutes (i.e. 5 to 6 times per night). The duration of dreams increases over the course of the night, from 5 - 10 minutes at the end of the first 90 minute sleep cycle, to about 45 minutes at the end of the last sleep cycle.
Most people recall their Dreams after one out of every two nights of sleep.
