Description

Tics are sudden, involuntary, repetitive, abnormal movements of Muscles (particularly in the Muscles of the face and head).

 

Prevalence

 Tics are more prevalent in children than in adults.

 

These Substances may Alleviate Muscular Tics

Amino Acids

 Isoleucine may alleviate Muscular Tics. 

 Taurine may alleviate Muscular Tics.  [1]

 

Minerals

 Magnesium may alleviate Muscular Tics (by improving the electric conductance of Nerve Impulses at the junctions between the Nerves and Muscles) and Magnesium deficiency is often the underlying cause of Muscular Tics.  [2]
