Delta Opioid Receptors are a sub-type of Opioid Receptors.  Delta Opioid Receptors are still under investigation but are believed to be concentrated in the Brain Stem and Spinal Cord.

 Enkephalins bind to and activate Delta Opioid Receptors.

 

Pharmaceutical/Recreational Drugs

 Morphine binds to and activates Delta Opioid Receptors (although Morphine has greater affinity with Mu Opioid Receptors).
