Description
The Limbic System is an odd group of intricately connected structures that encircle the central core of the Brain. The structures of the Limbic System exert control over various types of "primitive" behavior. The Limbic System is a functional (not anatomic) system within the Brain that influences and is influenced by Emotions. It can be likened (by way of analogy) to a committee that assesses the emotional state of affairs based on the past, the present, the potential and the multitude of informational inputs from the body.
