Description

Cellulite is an unofficial, non-medical term for Subcutaneous Tissue (containing Adipose Fat) that has become engorged into Cells and which then “pulls down” on overlying Skin.  This tugging creates an indentation of the Skin over the thighs and buttocks area.  The physical appearance of Cellulite is as “dimples”.

 

Prevalence

 Cellulite occurs more commonly in females than in males and usually occurs on the thighs and buttocks.
