Tuftsin is an Tetrapeptide (i.e. it contains four Amino Acids within its molecular structure) produced by the Spleen.
Biological Function of Tuftsin
Immune System
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) patients often exhibit very low endogenous Tuftsin levels (and these low levels of Tuftsin may contribute to the increased susceptibility of AIDS patients to infection). [1]
Tuftsin activates various Cells of the Immune Systems of person afflicted with various forms of Cancer (and may thereby stimulate the Immune System to attempt to kill Cancer cells). [2]
