Description
Plasma Cells are specialized Lymphoid Cells that are manufactured from B-Lymphocytes in the presence of Antigens in the medulla of Lymph Nodes and in the white pulp of the Spleen.
Biological Function of Plasma Cells
Immune System
Plasma Cells are responsible for the production and transport of Antibodies (Immunoglobulins) in response to Antigens.
Helper T-Cells stimulate the conversion of B-Lymphocytes to Plasma Cells.
Properdin is transported around the body by Plasma Cells.
These Substances may Enhance the Production of Plasma Cells
Vitamins
Retinoic Acid may stimulate the conversion of B-Lymphocytes into Plasma Cells. [1]
