The Cytosol is the soluble portion of the Cytoplasm of Cells including dissolved solutes but excluding particles.

 The endogenous production of Fatty Acids (i.e. ) and Cholesterol from Acetyl Coenzyme A (utilizing ATP-Citrate Lyase enzyme as a catalyst) occurs within the Cytosol.

 Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) is present in the Cytosol.

 Vitamin C concentrates in the Cytosol of Cells.

 Carnitine (and Acetyl-L-Carnitine) “shuttle” Long Chain Fatty Acids between the Cytosol and the Mitochondria.
