Description

Thromboplastin is an Enzyme secreted by Platelets during the earlier phases of Blood Clotting.

 

Biological Functions of Thromboplastin

Cardiovascular System

 During Bleeding, Platelets flow through the Wounds.  These Platelets rupture as they bump against the jagged edge of the damaged Blood Vessel and spill out Thromboplastin at the site of the Wound.  Thromboplastin then reacts with Prothrombin to form Thrombin as the first stage of Blood Clotting.
