Coley's Toxins

Also known as:  Mixed Bacterial Vaccine;  MBV;  Pyrogenic Bacterial Lysate

Coley’s Toxins are a type of Vaccine that is a by-product of two types of Detrimental Bacteria (Streptococcus pyogenes and Serratia marcescens).  More specifically, Coley’s Toxins contain Lipopolysaccharides (also known as Endotoxin or LPS) as their main biologically active ingredient - these Lipopolysaccharides are derived from the cell walls of Streptococcus pyogenes and Serratia marcescens.

It should be noted that the active ingredient in Coley’s Toxins (Lipopolysaccharides) are potentially toxic and are the Antigen component of Gram Negative Bacteria - Coley’s Toxins should therefore be used with caution.

Immune System

 Coley’s Toxins have been utilized for the treatment of various forms of Cancer (it is believed that Coley’s Toxins elicit a response from the Immune System that results in what could be likened to an endogenous form of Heat Therapy, due to the sudden Fever that Coley’s Toxins induce):  ^[1]
