Tamoxifen
Also known as: Genox; Nolvadex; Tamoxifen Citrate
Description
Tamoxifen is a type of Anti-Cancer, (non-steroidal) Antiestrogen Pharmaceutical Drug. It is actually a very weak, synthetic Estrogen that can occupy Estrogen Receptors, displacing natural Estrogens, without activating (agonizing) these Estrogen Receptors.
Conventional Medical Usage of Tamoxifen
Immune System
Tamoxifen is used to treat Cancer - Breast (by occupying and blocking (antagonizing) the receptor sites for Estrogens and additionally by generating Free Radicals that inhibit Protein Kinase C).
Unofficial Usage of Tamoxifen
Musculoskeletal System
Some bodybuilders use Tamoxifen to prevent Gynecomastia (by blocking Estrogen Receptors in Breast Tissue, Tamoxifen prevents stimulation of the growth of Breast Tissue).
