Description

Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors are a group of Anti-Impotence Prescribed Medications.

Therapeutic Usage of Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors

Sexual System

Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors are used for the treatment of Impotence - Male (they facilitate erections in Male Impotence patients).

Mechanism of Actions

Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors inhibit Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5, an endogenous enzyme that permits Blood to flow out of the Penis), thereby helping to sustain erections:

By inhibiting the Phosphodiesterase-5 enzyme in the Penis, Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors permit cyclic GMP to remain active and this is the underlying means by which Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors maintain erections.

Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors only “work” for Male Impotence as an adjunct to Sexual Arousal (i.e. they do not cause erections in the absence of Sexual Desire).

Types of Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors

 Tadalafil (Cialis)

       Udenafil (Zydena)

 Vardenafil (Levitra)

 Sildenafil (Viagra)
