Description

Bupropion is a type of Heterocyclic Antidepressant Pharmaceutical Drug.  It is classed as a Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitor.  The chemical structure of Bupropion resembles that of Amphetamine.

 

Conventional Medical Usage of Bupropion

Nervous System

 Buproprion has been used successfully to treat some cases of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD).  [1]

 Twice as many subjects using Buproprion during Nicotine withdrawal are able to remain smoke free a year after quitting as those not using Buproprion.

 30.3% of persons using Bupropion alone are able to successfully “quit” Tobacco Smoking and 35.5% of persons using Bupropion in conjunction with Nicotine patches are able to successfully “quit” Tobacco smoking.
